Upper Room Ministry
The FBCJB Prayer Ministry is expanding its support team! If you are interested in serving as a "prayer warrior" and helping this team service all prayer requests, please email us at email@example.com or call the church office at 904.249.2314.
Women on a Mission
Meet in Advance Hall every month on the first Tuesday at 9:30 AM. Our church faith partner, San Pablo Elementary, is seeking donations of Blow Pops and Tootsie Pops for the students as an incentive to master their math and science classes. Please place donations in one of the blue buckets around the church. Call Linda Bass at 504.9253 for more info.
The Mission House in Jacksonville Beach serves the homeless in the Beaches area by providing some the essentials to those who need them the most. A team from our church is on Mission House's rotation to prepare, cook, and serve dinner.
B.E.A.M. (Beach Emergency Assistance Ministry)
B.E.A.M. is an organization in the Beaches area that is funded by beaches churches. They not only provide assistance with food, but also assistance with clothing, job applications, and job training. Several of our members donate and deliver canned goods and other necessities on a regular basis while others volunteer whenever they can at B.E.A.M.'s main office on 9th Street South in Jacksonville Beach.
The Sewing Ministry started when people in the church who like to sew saw a need that they could meet. A growing number of people (some not even members of FBCJB!) come together to cut, stuff, and sew comfort pillows for breast cancer patients and blankets for hospice patients.
Care Bags for the Homeless
The Care Bags for the Homeless is an endeavor headed up by our youth. Large bags with food, sanitary items, and an easy to understand explanation of the Gospel are put together and taken out to distribute among those whose needs are the greatest in our community.
Cross Necklaces for the Hospitals
Necklaces with a cross as the central feature are constructed and placed in our local hospitals' prayer/mediation rooms. We have heard countless stories about how something as simple as a necklace can give someone such hope and peace when they are in most need of hope and peace!
Jacksonville Baptist Association
1% of our total tithes and offerings go directly to the Jacksonville Baptist Association. The JBA functions to assist and aid churches in the Jacksonville area as well as planting new churches in the Jacksonville area.
Florida Baptist Children's Home
The Florida Baptist Children's Home is a haven for children in our area that are coming out of very difficult home environments. They are surrounded by house parents that seek to love them, care for them and show them the love of Christ. We currently are providing financial assistance for one family home a year and also purchase, wrap, and deliver Christmas presents to the children in these homes.
Maguire State Missions Offering
100% of all monies received for this special offering (special emphasis from September - December) goes to support the missions that are vital and active around the state of Florida.
Blessings In a Backpack
This nationwide program sends easy-to-fix meals home with schoolchildren 38 weekends during the school year. We have a team of volunteers that help pack these backpacks at Mayport Elementary School on Friday mornings. We also have encouraged people to bring in their aluminum cans for recycling. Through the money that has been received from recycling alone, 16 children have been sponsored throughout the school year.
It is our extreme pleasure to be able to partner with this well known organization. Last year, we were able to send out 83 shoeboxes to children around the world. Those are 83 children who not only got to experience the joy of Christmas, but also got introduced to the meaning of Christmas.
Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention
9% of our total tithes and offerings go directly to the Cooperative Program of the SBC. The Cooperative Program invests in the theological education of tomorrow's leaders as well as supports missionaries and their families all around the the globe.
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
100% of all monies received for this special offering (special emphasis from September-December) goes to support missionaries in foreign countries.
Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
100% of all monies received for this special offering (special emphasis during the month of Easter) goes to support missionaries in North America.
At various points throughout the year, we will have an organized mission trip to go and serve in a different context.
