Where do I go?
Jacksonville Beach is a growing community and we are excited that you are considering visiting with us in person. We would like to personally greet you and help you and your family find your way on your first visit.
There is a Welcome Team waiting for you in the Worship Building each Sunday morning to assist you as you seek to find a Journey Group that fits you and your family’s unique needs.
Where do my kids go?
When you know your children are in a loving and safe environment you can relax, allowing you to focus on worship and Bible study.
Preschoolers are actively engaged in play while learning about God’s love for them. As you enter the Children’s Building, you will be greeted by a loving and caring member of the volunteer staff who will ensure your child has a great time and a safe time.
All children in Kindergarten - 5th grade attend classes in the Preschool and Children's Building. Our greeters will assist you and your children in finding your way to the appropriate class.
The EDGE Student Ministry, for 6th - 12th grade, is a very unique place of worship for students. Here they worship together, relax and have fun playing a little ping pong and pool. We believe this is an environment for developing strong relationships with friends but more importantly, strengthening their relationship with God.
What are worship services like?
wor•ship [wur-ship] n. 1. reverence or devotion for a deity; religious homage or veneration 2. extreme devotion or intense love or admiration of any kind.
Intense love and admiration! Extreme devotion! That’s how we describe worship at FBCJB. We gather together each week to worship God as a family and to express to Him our love, our thanks, and our devotion. Come be our guest as we worship the Lord together!
Our morning service is a meaningful time of worship through both instrumental and vocal music. Members of FBCJB also worship through prayer, giving and Bible study, which is led by Lead Pastor, Greg Varndell.
Assisted Listening Devices are available during the Worship Service. For assistance, please check with one of our greeters in the Foyer of the Worship Building.
What do I wear?
No matter what your personal style, you’ll be comfortable at FBCJB. If you prefer dressy, business, or casual attire, chances are there will be others dressed much like you no matter when you visit. Sure, Sunday mornings are a time when many prefer to dress up a bit, but even if jeans are more your style, you’ll be right at home with us.
Preschoolers and children learn while they play. We encourage hands on play so that children are learning through all their senses. Painting and other “messy” activities are also encouraged, so use your own judgment about how to dress your child. Our Middle and High School students usually dress casually on Sundays and Wednesdays because games and sporting events are often held outside and sometimes involve getting messy.
What do I bring?
Many members and guests find that it’s easier and more fulfilling to participate in Bible study when they have their own copy of the Bible with them during worship, so they can underline or highlight particular verses for later study. During worship, key Bible verses will be displayed on the overhead screen for those who do not have a Bible or who carry a different translation.
If you prefer to take notes, we provide a weekly outline on the overhead screen. For other Bible study times, you may prefer to bring a notepad and pen or pencil for taking notes.
